All 3 and 4 year olds, and some 2 year olds, are currently entitled to 600 hours of funded early learning and childcare in either a Glasgow City Council nursery or in one of our funded providers. Information on how you can access this in different nurseries across the city is available from the search function.
If you’re a Glasgow resident, and have a household income of up to £45,000 a year, you will be able to access 900 hours of funded childcare. This enhanced offer is available in different patterns across different nurseries and you should discuss this with the Head of the Nursery if you think you might be able to access this offer.
From August 2020, all 3 and 4 year olds, and some 2 year olds, will be entitled to 1140 hours of early learning and childcare in either a council nursery or funded provider. We’re rolling this out across the city and more information on that is available here.
Funding is available to provide early learning and childcare to certain two year olds from households with a variety of different circumstances.
You might be able to access a funded place for your 2 year old if you receive any of the following:
You can also access a funded place if your child has been looked after at any time since their second birthday.
If you think your child might qualify for a funded two year old place, you should discuss this with the Head of the Nursery who’ll be able to give you more information.
If you are looking for additional hours above the funded hours available to your child, you should discuss this with the nursery who will be able to advise on what is available.
